OUR VOLUNTEERS

The efforts of up to 125 dedicated volunteers from the community make it possible to bring you the Martinez Home Tour each year. Though this year (2023), the first year following the Pandemic, the Tour is different -- with the focus being on gardens and outdoor living spaces.

Traditionally, our volunteers fall into one or more of the following categories:

  • -
Members of the Martinez Historical Society who serve on the Home Tour Committee
    -
Homeowners who put their homes or gardnes on the Tour
    -
Merchants who sell tickets to the Home Tour
    -
Volunteers at the Martinez Refining Company Clubhouse (Tour starting point)
    -
Docents in the private homes and gardens that are on the Tour
    -
    Docents in the Martinez Museum
    -
Docents in the Martinez Refining Company Alumni Museum
    -
Volunteers in the public buildings that are typically added to the Tour
    -
    Vintage car owners
    -
    Musicians
    -
    Local Craftsmen and Artists
    -
College Park Photography class under the direction of Jen Kennedy.
    -
    Contra Costa Genealogical Society
    -
    Bill's Ace Hardware

A HEARTY THANK YOU to all the volunteers. These men and women make Martinez a better place for all of us to live or visit. It is they who make the Home Tour possible.

HOME TOUR WEBSITE

Volunteers also maintain the Home Tour website.

The website platform is a flash/HTML hybrid template. It is a JavaScript-Animated CSS template
which contains JS-based elements that add Flash-like dynamics and animation while still leaving
the template very light-weight. The website is based on template number 37350 from Blue Gel Media.
The web hosting service is provided by HostMonster.
